                                                   NAM (Non Aligned Movement)

India was the pioneer of this movement. It was a legacy from cold war era where countries wants to maintains sufficient distance  from both the West and Soviet.

*  Need of Non Aligned Movement

  Maintain equal relation -  After India affinity towards US build relationship with soviet bloc countries have not been that good. The US pressurized  India to stop buying oil from Iran due to conflict it.India is forced to shed its neutral image and is seen as an NON - NATO us ally 

Global leadership role -  In the time where small countries are looking for recognizing his voice in the highest chamber of world politics,NAM would have provide a perfect platform for India to assume leadership of these 3 world countries . 

India interested in active participation in global politics is a well known fact and in order to obtain that it needs support from US and its allies countries . A strong friend always helps in navigating difficult situation and their supports is necessary.

* Way forward -  NAM  is relevant  upto certain extent to check balance of power but its role in controlling  global politics is nil. still efforts to revive NAM can be good idea going into the future.
